We aim for high-signal recommendations that help you plan a better day in Bucharest. We weigh walkability, pacing, and whether a place is genuinely worth the detour — not how many entries we can pad a list with. If two cafés on the same Lipscani street are interchangeable, we'll tell you which one and why.

How we verify facts

Bucharest details change constantly: museum hours, the Palace of the Parliament's tour tiers, Therme's seasonal pricing, and the metro fare (a Metrorex increase has been on and off the table). For anything time-sensitive we check primary sources — official venue pages, the city tourism board, and the transport operators (STB for surface transport, Metrorex for the metro, CFR for trains). Verified values and their sources are recorded in our FACTS-SOURCES.md with a review date, and surfaced on the relevant pages alongside an outbound link so you can re-check.

When a price is genuinely seasonal or mid-change, we keep a friendly range rather than a single hard number, and we point you to the official page. We never invent a figure to look precise.

Romanian lei, not euro

Prices on the site are in Romanian lei (RON), the currency you'll actually pay in. Cards are widely accepted in central Bucharest, but it's worth carrying a little cash for markets, small cafés, and tips.

Events & seasonal pages

Events are the most volatile thing we cover. The George Enescu Festival runs in odd years and the Competition in even years; the Christmas market in Piaţa Constituţiei sets its dates each season. When a date isn't fully confirmed, we say so and point to the organiser.
